French Rookie Tim Boal Ready for Dream Tour Action > Portuguese embaixo
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 25 February, 2009 : - - Coolangatta -- With only three days remaining before the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast pres. By LG launches the 2009 ASP World Tour launches, our European bloggers are currently training at Snapper Rocks. Tim Boal (Anglet, FRA), 25, will be one of three European rookies in Round 1 of the first event and could bring some good surprises if clean waves start rolling over the Superbank.
Boal, who suffered a foot injury for three months this winter, has been training on the Gold Coast for a couple of weeks now and it seems like the French Basque surfer is definitely ready to compete against the world’s best. Check out Boal’s thoughts…
"After a long winter and two months away from the ocean, I had a lot of time to think and do other stuff and I must say I had a good time. Being away from contests and surfing has been good, and it made so much happier to get back to work and restart surfing and training. I am definitely feeling good right now after the winter and happy to be back into shape.
"I feel refreshed and am looking forward to competing again. My foot is 100% back to normal and I have been surfing a couple of times every day since I got to the Gold Coast.
I have been at Coolangatta for almost two weeks now and had already one excellent swell. I surfed with Aritz (Aranburu) and a few other friends that have come early as well. We had some really good barrels and the sandbank looks very good at the moment.
"The swell has dropped now but I cannot wait to put that contest rashguard on and surf out there with one other guy only. I have been trying some new boards as well and I should have the right weapon for the start of the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast.
First year on the ASP World Tour… I am looking forward to improving and surfing with the rest of the guys and I will try my best for sure. I have great support from all my sponsors and all my friends and family so I feel like things are going really well so far.
"I have been part of the Red Bull training program for a year already and it is back on for 2009 which is really good for me. Having Andy “Kingy” King, my fitness trainer, parents, friends and my girlfriend supporting me is all I need, and it feels like a there is a team spirit.
Being part of this unprecedent 7-man contingent from Europe is another special thing this year. It is such a great feeling to see Michel (Bourez), Aritz (Aranburu) and Marlon (Lipke) all on tour because we started our Pro Junior careers together a few years ago and there we are, all on tour. I expect to see some great surfing from everyone this year and hopefully we get good waves at all events. Can’t wait to get on with it all!"

Ele enfrenta o compatriota Jeremy Flores e o havaiano Roy Powers.
