Jason Mraz To Headline GoldCoast Oceanfest 2009

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 3 March, 2009 : - - GoldCoast are stoked and amped to announce the main protagonist for this years Surf & Music festival line up. The 2009 headliner will be the west coast groove machine that is Jason Mraz. Dubbed the next Jack Johnson, he attended The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City, studying musical theater before moving to San Diego.

Mraz's stylistic influences include reggae, pop, rock, folk, jazz, and hip hop. Mraz and his song "I'm Yours" was nominated for Song of the Year and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance at the 2009 51st Grammy Awards. The album We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things. was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical in 2009.
