Fantastic Noodles South Coast Regional Junior Surfing Titles to continue this weekend

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 16 March, 2009 : - - Maroubra Beach, NSW -- Premier junior surfing finds itself at Broulee this weekend, as the hottest surfing talent on the south coast get ready for battle in the beautiful Eurobodalla Shire. The second round of the Fantastic Noodles South Coast Regional Junior Surfing Titles will see competitors from the south coast region looking for qualification into the Arnette NSW Junior Titles.

Acting as the second of five regional qualifiers, this weekend’s event will see six divisions contested in the under 18, 16 and 14 male and female disciplines. And if round one is anything to go by, the action will be not doubt be of the highest order. Having racked up his best ever ASP Australasian Pro Junior Series result, only last weekend at Newcastle, Jordi Watson (Currarong, NSW) will be on hand to continue his excellent form of late.

As the champion in the blue ribbon event, in round one, Watson is looking forward to going back to Broulee, a break which has been a happy hunting ground for him in the past. Also on hand to defend their last round victories will be Hayley Murray, Sean Mawson, Erin Dark and Kipp Caddy, who took home trophies in their respective division’s.

Having recently announced the support of junior surfing throughout the state and the nation, the Fantastic Noodles Junior Regional Titles covers ten events in South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania and Victoria, 14 regional junior surfing titles events in NSW, plus a South Australian Pro Junior event in July.

Fantastic Snacks Managing Director, Maurice Crotti, was more than happy to be lending support behind the development of the state’s surfing talent, particularly within the hot bed on the south coast. “We are pleased to have the opportunity to encourage young surfers and help provide the assistance they need to achieve their sporting goals.”

With the likes of south coast starlet, Sally Fitzgibbons (Gerroa, NSW) now making her claim for stardom on the world stage, the next world champion may just be unearthed at the next Fantastic Noodles Junior Regional Titles. “The national surfing state titles series are the breeding ground for the next generation of professional surfers in Australia,” Crotti continued.

The second round of The Fantastic Noodles South Coast Regional Junior Surfing Titles will be held at Broulee on Saturday, 22 March 2009.
