Tapia Spain wlecoming the ASP 1 Star LQS Goanna Pro

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 7 April, 2009 : - - The Goanna Pro, an Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) Longboard Qualifying Series (LQS) 1-Star event, returns to the beautiful Spanish village of Tapia de Casariego from April 9 to 11 where Europe's top longboard surfers will compete for both the event crown and a precious qualification for the 2009 ASP World Longboard Tour (WLT).

After a year break where ASP World Qualifying Series (WQS) soldiers took control of Tapia's renowned surf town in 2008, the Goanna Pro gives a new opportunity to longboarders for the only ASP LQS event of the year confirmed so far and with some of Europe's best athletes already confirmed for the event including ASP World Longboard Tour Remi Arauzo (Vieux Boucau, FRA), the show promises to deliver some exciting action.

Event organisers havebeen supporting professional surfing for almost twenty years and after decades of ASP WQS and Pro Junior action, the second edition of the ASP LQS 1-Star Goanna Pro completes Tapia's exceptional devotion to the sport of the kings.

Longboard surfing, considered the roots of the sport, offers a great variety of style, maneuvers and and radicality, and since the Goanna Pro greated its first LQS edition in 2007, the crowds have been expecting a return of surfing's nine-foot boards in the cold waters of Northern Spain.
