Another Lay Day for Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach, Swell Predicted Tomorrow

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 10 April, 2009 : - - Bells Beach -- Small surf in the one-to-two foot (0.5 metre) range has prompted officials at the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach to call another lay day this morning in hopes of the predicted swell to fill in for tomorrow.

The second event of the ASP World Tour and ASP Women’s World Tour respectively, the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach has already completed the opening rounds of competition for both the men and women, requiring just three more days to compete both events.

“The surf is marginally better today than yesterday, but with the fore calling for it to fill in over this evening and tomorrow, we’ll be calling a lay day today,” Damien Hardman, Rip Curl Pro Contest Director, said. “We expect to see contestable waves tomorrow so we’ll be down here at 7am for the call.”

Swellnet, official foreers for the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach, are calling for surf to slowly fill in today and throughout the weekend.

Event organizers will reconvene tomorrow at 7am for a possible 8am start.
