South Swells & South Winds ...Spring is Here!

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 29 April, 2009 : - - After a winter of practically zero waves, April stormed in with a solidly overhead south swell. Unfortunately, much of the state was marred by evil south winds. The sloppy conditions provided some silver lining at JettyGirl though...we were able to spend some extra time getting a few stories online.

Chicago-turned-Cardiff surfer Liz Cockrum brings her special brand of photography to JettyGirl this month. In her Sirens project, Liz takes a different approach to the subject of women's surfing with portraits and landscapes instead of typical surfing shots ...all beautifully exposed in medium format film.

We're stoked to finally bring you the Panama story featuring Holly Beck, Jenni Flanigan, Kim Mayer, Kyla Langen and Helina Beck. This project was a community effort with the full-length story by Jenni Flanigan buoyed by six wonderfully edited videos by Holly Beck. Kim Mayer pitched in with some photos from her personal collection as well.

Finally, just in time for our newsletter's deadline, Five Minutes with Cori Schumacher went online last night and features the new Women's Pipeline Pro Longboarding Champion sharing a bunch of stories from her experience.
