Quiksilver to lay off 168 employees at Huntington facility

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 25 June, 2009 : - - Quiksilver Inc. will lay off 168 more people at its Huntington Beach headquarters, according to a notice filed with the California Employment Development Department. Quiksilver announced a major restructuring initiative in January 2009 that included the elimination of 200 business positions in its Americas region.

The layoff notice says 153 workers will be let go by July 21 and another 15 will leave by Oct. 1, according to the Orange County Register. Last year, the company laid off 397 workers in Orange County, according to records filed with the EDD.
