    Hawaiian Islands Vintage Surf Auction
    Presented by Quiksilver Waterrman Collection

VIRTUALLY THERE: LIVE AUCTION & ONLINE BIDDING ANNOUNCED  |  Go to the Vintage Surf Auction

Just weeks until Hawaiian Islands Vintage Surf Auction

    Surfersvillage Global Surf News
, 14 July, 2009 : - - Honolulu - Randy Rarick, curator and host of the Hawaiian Islands Vintage Surf Auction, presented by Quiksilver Waterman Collection, announced that the auction will be broadcast live and offer online bidding. The announcement follows unprecedented demand from dedicated collectors around the world who are unable to attend in person. The auction will be staged at the Blaisdell Center, Honolulu, July 17 & 18.

As the buzz surrounding the auction continues to build, auction lots for the 100 "main" auction items have been finalized. The entire auction catalog will be unveiled the first week of July.  In the meantime, the "Peek of the Week" continues to tantalize both the curious and the serious.

Virtually there: Online bidding and live broadcast via the internet open the 2009 Hawaiian Islands
Vintage Surf Auction, presented by Quiksilver Waterman Collection, to the world.

"We have had incredible interest and such high demand for information about the auction that we decided to take it 'live' and also offer online bidding for those who can't physically make it to the auction," said Rarick.

"To accomplish this, we contracted with Surfing Live and the crew at iTV 360 for the live internet feed.  This will also give those who just want to follow the auction action an opportunity to tune in to all the excitement."

The entire global surf community now has a portal to participate in this famous surf auction, while those who attend in person will be able to get up close and personal with both auction items and all the legends and surf stars who will be in attendance.

For online bidding,  the Hawaiian Islands Vintage Surf Auction will be broadcast live on SWB Consulting's live auction platform.  SWB is the premier live auction broadcasting service provider and the SWB Auction Manager (SAM) is a powerful online bidding tool for live auction sales.  SAM  enables auction companies to broadcast their live auctions from the sale room to an online audience for remote participation.  The product also features a timed online auction and inventory management component.  For more info on SWB, visit: www.swb-consulting.com.

Full details will be posted on www.hawaiiansurfauction.com starting the fist week of July, along with the auction catalog and Absentee Proxy Bid registration.
