Riptide Launches to New Heights Online

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 3 July, 2009 : - - An unrivalled commitment to the bodyboarding community has resulted in unprecedented growth for Riptide Magazine’s website with a record 22,935 unique visitors in the month of June, the largest in the website's history.  Alongside the 20 year anniversary tour, special Future edition and Future DVD, Riptide also relaunched the website this week to make the site even more user friendly for the ever-growing online bodyboarding community.

Riptide Editor in Chief Nick Lawrence said “since it’s inception in 1989, Riptide has been the bodyboarder’s bible that bodyboarders everywhere look to for everything bodyboarding. So, alongside our unyielding quest to improve and grow the Riptide brand, we are constantly seeking to capture and inspire new readers and riders on a global level. The new and improved website allows us to further interact with our audience and provide a multimedia experience which is much more than just a magazine.”

The revamp of the website and continued growth reinforces the magazine’s reputation as the number one bodyboard magazine in the world. The incorporation of exclusive stories, footage, news and endemic event partnerships, accompanied by incredibly high quality photographic and design standards, which transfer seamlessly from print to the online medium and engaging with the audience has been key to it’s success.

National Sales Manager Scott Chapman emphasises the site and its growing statistics are indicative of Morrison Media’s commitment to their advertisers, “With a publishing portfolio encompassing 11 magazines, numerous books, websites, podcasts and mobile content, the platform’s success highlights the abundant options available to our clients as we continue to provide the widest range of options when it comes to cost effective advertising.”

Some of the many features of the site include all the old Riptide web favourites including exclusive picture galleries from award winning photographers, news, in-depth how to sections, reader galleries and even more with behind the scenes action with pro rider blogs and the Yahoo! Translation to cater for the fast-growing international visitors to the site.

Expect to see many exclusives and premium quality event coverage of this month’s major showcase events including the Nomad Shark Island Challenge and major Men’s IBA World Tour events this month with the Peruvian Inka Challenge and the Arica Pro in Chile featured on the new Riptide website.
