South Africa's Salt Water Girl magazine hosts 'Experience'

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 3 July, 2009 : - - The 6th of July heralds the start of the 2009 Saltwater GIRL Experience. This annual event sees the magazine invite 10 girls from thousands of hopefuls from all over SA to experience a week filled with the SWG brand’s own style of fun, sun and stoke.

The 10 lucky girls were selected through a nationwide search at 11 malls across the country and will be flown up to Durban to embark on an all-expenses-paid experience of a lifetime. Activities that the girls will partake in include surfing lessons, gorge jumping, horseback riding, scuba diving, fashion shoots, skating and more. The girls will also have the opportunity to interact with a selection of some of SA’s top youth brands, namely: Roxy, Billabong, DC, Von Zipper, Jockey, Clean & Clear and Safari.

Editor of Saltwater GIRL, Mea Trenor comments: “The idea is to arm these girls with the stoke that they need to live life to the max and to squeeze every bit of adventure possible out of the week. We hope to boost confidence, create dreams and realise goals. The girls will not only walk away from this Experience with loads of cool prizes and freebies, but also with a lust for life that will affect everything that they take on in the future. It is always so heart-warming to see the girls return home with truckloads of positive energy, possibility and love.”

    The 10 selected girls are:
    Danielle Chirnside (17 – JHB)
    KianaNeethling (14 – CPT)
    Tara Tobin(14 – CPT)
    Hella Peterson (16 – CPT)
    Laura Heldsinger (16 – CPT)
    Ashleigh Arton (16 – CPT)
    Donne Manuel (18 – EL)
    Leze Hurter (19 – PE)
    ZandileGontsana (16 – CPT)
    Tarryn Chimes (14 – JHB)

A web gallery will be updated daily on swg.co.za with all the activities and adventures that the girls get up to.A video will also be released at the end of the event, which culminates in a mind-blowing fashion show to take place on 11 July at Wavehouse, Gateway in which the clothing sponsors of the SWG Expereince will showcase their summer ranges.

Saltwater GIRL is a proudly homegrown media brand and the only youth lifestyle magazine of its kind in South Africa. Cutting through the clutter of mass media offerings and only delivering content that will inspire its target market to be all that they can be, SWG has no time for sell-outs or imitations. SWG encourages its readers to challenge the norm and be refreshingly different in everything that they do. SWG and its readers are anything but ordinary.
