Billabong Occy’s Grom Comp with Occy surfing the Sony Surf with Occy Surf Shoot Out  today at Duranbah

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 3 July, 2009 : - - Duranbah Beach, Gold Coast -- Mark Occhilupo will be on - site and surfing today at Duranbah Beach at his own event, the Billabong Occy’s Grom Comp which attracts Australia’s best young surfers to the Gold Coast competing across 16,14 and 12 year old Boy and Girl Divisions.

Occy will be at the event from 12 midday through to around 1:30 and he will surf a special expression session with 15 of Australia’s top youngsters in the Sony Surf with Occy Surf Shoot Out which awards a Sony Cyber Shot camera to the single biggest move of the session.

Expect to see a very fit and focused Occhilupo on the back of last night’s announcement that Occy and Tom Curren (USA) are set to meet in a showdown at Jeffrey’s Bay South Africa later this month!

One of surfings greatest rivalries ever will be put to rest at this showdown. Occhilupo and Curren in 16 match ups have been locked at 8 wins all for well over a decade and this deadlock will be broken at Jeffrey’s Bay during the upcoming Association of Surfing Professionals Billabong Pro in a specially organized heat.

Occy will be available for interviews through 12 to 1:30pm today.
