Neco Padaratz biggest mover after latest WQS events

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 20 July, 2009 : - - Coolangatta -- What a great comeback to professional competition for Neco Padaratz. Neco injured his back severely after the 2008 Boost Mobile Pro at Trestles and has been out of competitive surfing until this year’s ASP WQS at Trestles. Since then, he has competed in the last two events in Brazil where last week he came second place.

Neco cranked it up a notch at this week’s ASP WQS 6-Star Coca Cola Pro at Saquarema in Brazil, which was held in great surf for every day of the event and claimed his first victory since 2006. Neco’s impressive winning list now stands at 12 including two ASP Dream Tour events.

This win pushed Neco up to 54th from 111th with just three events counting. At the moment, Neco has not entered any other ASP WQS for the rest of this year so it will be interesting to see if he hits the European ASP WQS leg to try and requalify for the ASP World Tour in 2010.

Ratings movers: Upwards, we see not much in the top ranks except for Dusty Payne going from 17th to 11th. Downwards, nothing notable, which is good for them.
