NEW YORK SURF FILM FESTIVAL PRESENTED BY JET BLUE AIRWAYS AND THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
ANNOUNCES THE CULT CLASSIC RETURN OF “THE BEST OF TEARDEVILS”

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 12 September, 2009 : - - In the mid 1990s, surf movies were plagued by gay punk music, lame skits, and a stale, sectional format. The TearDevils Trilogy attacked the mainstream with monsters, sharpshooters and heavy metal. Over a decade later, the terror has reawakened one last time for a "best of" showing at this years New York Surf Film Festival.

“It's amazing to have a series of movies I made during my awkward, young adulthood requested for such a prestigious event.  I guess everyone just misses the time when surf movies were about laughing and having fun,” said TearDevils creator Jesse Schluntz

New York Surf Film Festival co-founder Tyler Breuer said “These films were amongst some of my favorites from my grommethood. I remember there being all these underground San Diego surfers you never heard about just ripping and then the humor of the films with funny skits and classic stunts made you want to hang out with that crew. It’s an honor to be able to show a best of version and get to hang with Jesse Schluntz.”

“The Best of TearDevils” shows at the New York Surf Film Festival, Saturday, September 26 at 8:05PM along with Beyond The Dream: The Joey Buran Story.
