Concert Series Headlined by Matisyahu

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 18 September, 2009 : - - Half Moon Bay -- Mavericks Surf Ventures, Inc. (Mavericks) today announced that it has partnered with Live Nation to produce the third-ever Mavericks Live Tour™ concert series. 

The 2009 Mavericks Live Tour™ Presented by Sony Ericsson, headlined by Grammy-nominated reggae sensation Matisyahu, promises to be the biggest and best Mavericks Live Tour™ yet, with 17 shows scheduled to take place during the months of October, November, and December in cities throughout North America.  Tickets are available at livenation.com.

Mavericks CEO Keir J. Beadling was delighted to make the announcement, saying, “We are thrilled to be able to join with an artist as talented as Matisyahu as we take the Mavericks message out on the road.  We feel that this concert series is the perfect opportunity for us to bring the excitement of Mavericks to fans throughout the U.S.”

Live Nation’s Michael Yerke commented:  “Partnering with an iconic surf brand like Mavericks is illustrative of the kind of touring deals we are interested in pursuing for our network of North American clubs.  The tour, headlined by such an important artist as Matisyahu, is a great offering for music fans and fills an important niche in our House of Blues and Fillmore clubs for the fall.”

Along with being able to take in the sounds of Matisyahu, fans attending the shows will get a close-up look at all things Mavericks, including spectacular video footage, environmental action opportunities, and gear – including organic Mavericks Live Tour t-shirts produced from recycled plastic bottles. 

Beadling continued, “Mavericks inspires fans from all over.  This concert series gives them the chance to experience the passion and excitement of Mavericks in their hometown.”  Matisyahu, who released his third studio album Light, on August 25th, noted how eager he was to headline the tour.  “I’m really looking forward to being a part of this tour.  I think Mavericks has a way of uplifting its fans, so the atmosphere at each show should be incredible.” 

In addition to the 17 venue stops in the US and Canada, tour sponsor Sony Ericsson invites fans to visit AT&T retail locations in select tour cities, where they’ll have a chance to win autographed merchandise, as well as VIP tickets to meet Matisyahu and world-class Mavericks surfers.
