PLA San Diego Event Ready to Kick Off, Adds New Presenting Sponsor—Air Sports Watch

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 2 October, 2009 : - - The Professional Longboard Association is ready to kick off the fourth event in their five event WLT qualifying series.  The event, which will be held at the Ocean Beach Pier in San Diego, had been renamed the Gidget Pro presented by Air Sports Watch. The name change came late Thursday afternoon when the Professional Longboard Association signed Air Sports Watch as an overall presenting sponsor to the event.

Based in Largo, FL, Air Sports Watch is a new company that started on September 1st, 2009. Air Sports Watch is a product made of Tourmaline and Germanium infused Silicon which emits negative ions and FAR infrared technology, which in recent studies, has shown to improve circulation and mental alertness, strengthen immune system while reducing stress, and speeding up post-recovery time.

“We are excited to work with a company such as Air Sports Watch. They are a startup company here in the United States, and are trying to build their brand, just like the PLA. Getting them in on a level such as this will be able to help them grow, and get their product into their major demographic”, said Jeff Stoner, executive director of the PLA.

The Gidget Pro presented by Air Sports Watch is also a first for the PLA, in regards to using Sustainable Energy to power their event. The PLA partnered with California Solar Innovation earlier this year to develop a Solar Powered unit to run the entire event. This event marks the first time the initial solar unit will be used.
