ZICO Pure Premium Coconut Water Signs on as Official Sponsor for Independent Surf Film “Lost Prophets”

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 16 October, 2009 : - - Hermosa Beach -- Establishing itself deeper into the surfing community, naturally electrolyte-rich ZICO Coconut Water has signed on as an official sponsor for the new independent surfing film, 'Lost Prophets Search for the Collective.'

Directed by Nathan Apffel, director of FiNS on Fuel TV, and featuring a dynamic cast including Dave Rastovich, Reef McIntosh, Brian Conley, Hans Hagen, Dede Suryana, Nole Cossart, “Bol” Made Adi Putra, Andrew Bennett, and Chris Del Moro, the film makes its world premier today in Laguna Beach, Calif. Following, the film’s premier, “Lost Prophets” will be touring to 21 locations around USA, East and West Coasts and Hawaii.

As part of the sponsorship agreement, ZICO Pure Premium Coconut Water will be distributed at each stop on the tour. ZICO’s logo will appear on all event signage, poster art and ZICO will host the screening of the film in the Los Angeles Market in mid-November.

“We are thrilled to partner with and support this film,” said Mark Rampolla ZICO’s founder and chief executive officer. “As the source for natural replenishment, this is a great opportunity for ZICO to gain exposure in a community that’s important to us. The main reason that we decided to sponsor this film was because of its messaging, which is to find balance and dedicate yourself to nature. That really resonates with our core values.”

ZICO currently is available in three exotic varieties – natural, mango and passion fruit-orange peel. Even the flavored varieties are all-natural, as they contain flavor essences, meaning they come from the flower itself, not the fruit, giving the beverage a light yet potent flavor with no additional sugar, calories, carbs or acidity. ZICO also comes in easy-to-carry, eco-friendly 11-once TetraPaks for on-the-go refreshment or one-liter resealable TetraPak containers for those consuming ZICO on multiple occasions. Both sizes retain the beverage’s authentic tropical flavor.

About ZICO Beverages, LLC. Founded in 2004 by Mark Rampolla, ZICO Beverages, LLC. (pronounced Zee-co) is the maker of ZICO Pure Premium Coconut Water, a 100% pure coconut water with natural flavor essences. With more potassium than a banana and four other essential electrolytes, low acidity, no fat, no sugar added, and no cholesterol, ZICO is the natural, refreshing way to rehydrate and replenish.

The unique processing and packaging system captures and retains the exotic flavor and nutritional benefits of coconut water for six months so you can enjoy ZICO anytime and everywhere. ZICO can be found at leading yoga studios, gyms, natural food stores and gourmet grocers in select markets across the country.   ZICO is headquartered in Hermosa Beach, Calif.

“Lost Prophets” Film Synopsis: Surfing culture originated as an act of escape and joy; these personal explorations were a way of connecting with nature. In our present day there has been a departure from these origins entering this new age of hyper-progression and extreme commercialism. Amongst the unstoppable trend of surf globalization there are certain individuals who have chosen this age-old path of discovery with surfing being a spiritual reflection of themselves. It is these individuals immersed in the surfing experience living this rebirth of the grassroots spirit that will help guide our sport in a new revitalizing direction. “Lost Prophets” will usher in a new prologue of our history; a prophecy of our sports future.  For more information about the film or tour, visit .
