Queensland Masters State Titles

Printpoint Queensland Masters Surfing Circuit
Gold Coast, Queensland
14 - 15 November 2009

State Champions Will Be Crowned At Finale Of The 2009 Printpoint Queensland Masters Surfing Circuit

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 12 November, 2009 : - - Gold Coast Queensland -- Prestigous state crowns and the honour of representing Queensland at next year’s national titles will ensure the surfing spotlight shines on North Stradbroke Island (Queensland, Australia) this weekend, for the final event of 2009 Printpoint Queensland Masters Surfing Circuit.

Running from November 14-15, state champions will be decided based on competitors’ best two-of-three results throughout the three-event series, with age old rivalries being reignited across six (male) divisions including O/28, O/35, O/40, O/45, O/50 and O/55.

If a state title, selection in the Queensland team and bragging rights at the pub weren’t enough incentive for the masters competitors, arguably the most sought after award - the ‘Wave of the Weekend,’ will make its final appearance at a Printpoint Queensland Masters Surfing Circuit event for 2009.

And, with the hotter months well and truly upon us, competitors couldn’t have asked for better timing with the recent announcement that XXXX Summer Bright Lager will be providing four cartons of their refreshing new drop for the ‘Wave of the Weekend’ – awarded to the competitor who registers the highest individual wave score throughout the event.

The newest addition to the XXXX family, Summer Bright Lager is brewed by Queenslanders with total refreshment in mind, and will undoubtedly be keeping that summer feeling thriving after a competitive day in the water.

So far in the series, Currumbin’s Mark Richardson has looked unstoppable is the blue-ribbon O/28 division, likewise Chris Brooks (Currumbin) in the O/40 and Peter Buckley (Palm Beach) in the O/55’s, with all three competitors looking to wrap up their respective divisions in style.

However, the real battle to watch will be when Richardson and Brooks along with Miami’s Dean Hall and Currumbin’s Paul Buratowski all clash in the wide-open race for top honours in the O/35 division.

Not to be outdone by their younger counterparts Peter Buckley (Palm Beach) and Neville Williams (Marcoola) also have plenty to fight for with the winner of this weekend’s event likely to clinch the overall honours in the O/50 division.

The Printpoint Queensland Masters Surfing Circuit is proudly supported by Printpoint, XXXX Summer Bright Lager, WAECO, Stradbroke Ferries, Stradbroke Island Holidays and Surfing Queensland.

Stay tuned to surfingqueensland.com for news, photos and updates relating to the event. The third and final event of the 2009 Printpoint Queensland Masters Surfing Circuit will commence on November 14 and conclude on November 15, 2009.
