Surfing Australia to Launch into Summer with New Website | www.surfingaustralia.com
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 27 November, 2009 : - - (Coolangatta, Qld, Aus – Surfing Australia will launch into summer with a splash, with the National Sporting Organisation (NSO) unveiling its brand new website today.
The new Surfing Australia website is light years ahead of the previous website in both visual impact and cutting edge programming, and is accompanied by the revamp of the State’s (NSW, VIC, TAS, SA and WA) websites.
The user interface features a full screen high quality image of a deep blue wave with the content designed to seamlessly adjust to the centre of the screen. Navigating the site is easy thanks to an intuitive menu system and instant access to key information from the home page.
Unlike most enterprise style websites that utilise a Flash based rotating news system, the Surfing Australia website employs an advanced code based news system for greater accessibility and security to visitors to the site.
The new website manages to condense a high amount of information without looking the same as other corporate style websites that share a common layout thereby separating the new SA website from the dreaded 'template' look.
At www.surfingaustralia.com surfers of all ages and ability levels can access events across the country. Add to that access to Surfing Australia Surf Schools, the High Performance Centre (HPC), Team Australia updates, education information and resources, surf reports via surf forecasting gurus Coastalwatch, the latest surf news from around the globe, uber-cool vides, boardriding clubs and the Surfing Australia Newsletter, all in a simple, easy-to-navigate manner.
Surfing Australia CEO Andrew Stark is pleased to be launching the new site. “We are very excited to launch our new website to the world,” he said. “We have invested heavily into this new improved communication platform and believe it is well designed for our needs as a national sporting organisation. The new website is all a part of our commercialisation process that is now well under way.”
Surfing Australia has also aligned with Australia's #1 online surf store Surfstitch. The general public, amateur surf enthusiasts and professional surfers alike will be able access surf gear online via multiple links on the Surfing Australia website.
Under the hood of the website beats a database driven MySQL & PHP architecture that uses minimal tables and maximum CSS with semantic markup. For non techno types, this means the site is cutting edge and built to accommodate a wide array of browser platforms with the ability to evolve in sync with ever changing internet technologies.
By far the most impressive feature in the 'back-end' of the new SA site is the custom designed CMS or content management system, developed specifically for Surfing Australia to manage and edit website content with maximum efficiency and security.
The site's sophistication is a credit to 2Creative, a Gold Coast based web design and development studio.
SEO (search engine optimisation) and social networking via twitter have also been catered for to ensure the new website performs from a marketing point of view as well as a visual and technical one.
In conjunction with their brand new website, the NSO is excited to be also launching their brand new Surfing Australia Surf Schools website at www.sasurfschools.com.au
This dedicated surf schools website, which also sits in the main Surfing Australia site, provides the most powerful web based business tool available to member surf schools.
By linking the power of this new site with dual URL entry points, Google maximisation and a high profile advertising campaign, Surfing Australia Surf Schools will see an increase in traffic they have never experienced before.
Other features of this fresh new site include user friendly search tools, so customers can easily navigate their way to a surf school in their area and video footage promoting learn to surf featuring surfing legends Layne Beachley and Mark Occhilupo.
There are also profile pages for all Surfing Australia Surf schools, which allows members to showcase their business through images, links, and information.
Surfing Australia is very excited about how the site clearly sets the standard within the Learn to Surf industry and in turn drives business to all of our member surf schools.
