Kirra Point Set to Pump for the Rhythm Kirra Teams Challenge for the first time in 16 Years!
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 1 February, 2010 : - - Kirra Point is coming to life and all indications indicate some classic waves hitting the famous point right on-time for this weekend’s Rhythm Kirra Teams Challenge – Australia’s most prestigious title in Club Surfing! Kirra Boardriders Club stalwart Neal Purchase Junior is optimistic the event will run at Kirra.
“ You’re never certain until the swell actually appears at Kirra but it’s seriously looking good for the weekend, the sand at Kirra is better positioned than it has been for a long long time and the swell and winds predicted for the weekend should really produce some great waves – Kirra is the events home and for everyone it is super exciting to think we’ll be back surfing great waves at the point again – with Australia’s top clubs coming the vibe will be massive” said Purchase before going for a surf at Kirra today.
Making their annual sojourn, 32 of Australia’s best boardriding clubs will land on the golden shores of the Gold Coast to showcase their surfing talents to do battle over 3 gruelling days of competition to eventually determine who will be crowned and take home the coveted title of Australia’s best boardriding club.
