Ediana Putra Powers to Victory at the Rusty Gromfest Keramas

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 3 March, 2010 : - - Today Nusa Lembongan's Ediana Putra unleashed a barrage of explosive maneuvers enroute to victory at the first event of the three-part Rusty Gromfest series held at Keramas beach, Bali.

Ediana faced some stiff competition from the likes of Jeren Kiring, Nyoman Satria 'Blacky', and Mansur Ramlin in the 20-minute final but managed to edge his way into the lead after securing a great score towards the end of the showdown. "It's the first contest of the year so I wanted to start off strong. It was really fun to have Keramas to ourselves today - it's one of my favorite waves," smiled Ediana after the final.

In the under 14 division some emerging talent surfaced with Agus Saputra, Komang Bereng, and Komang 'Komo' Sastrawan being the standouts. Eventual winner Agus Saputra turned heads with strong combinations of slashes and hacks, but 'Komo' impressed head judge Tipi Jabrik enough to score a new surfboard.

"This year at each junior event we will reward the 'surfer that shows the most potential' with a new custom board, courtesy of Coca-Cola ISC" said Tipi. "Today 'Komo' was ripping even though he was using old equipment, so i'm sure this new surfboard will take his surfing to the next level."

The overall under 16 series champion will be awarded a free, expenses paid trip to Australia to compete in the 15th annual Rusty Gromfest at Lennox Head in July 2010.

Finalists in each event also receive awesome prizes in the form of Rusty clothing packs, Sony Ericsson handphones, Creatures grips and leashes, free surfboard art and repairs from Freedom surfshop, plus other products from event sponsors Sabre, Macbeth, Stomp, Zinka, and Walls. The overall under 14 division winner will be presented with a tricked out Sony PSP.
