Mavericks “Steep and Deep” Contest well underway

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 9 March, 2010 : - - Reelcomp.com announced today they are midway through the 'Mavericks Steep and Deep' competition. The 'Steep N Deep' contest is a season long competition that will be ending with the last video and photo submissions April 15th, 2010.

Back in October 2009 the crew had decided, after their yearly contest amongst themselves, to invite everyone to join them this season and announced the STEEP N DEEP contest hosted by REELcomp.com and Action Sports Hub (ASH). The goal is to get the steepest drop from the deepest take off spot, captured on film.

And, oh yeah, that’s not the hard part - you have to at least make it to the bottom without blowing up. “There is no doubt we will see the level of big wave paddle surfing pushed up a few knotches! I know I’ll be chucking my self over a few suicide ledges   st for you all, let's just hope I make it.” said Collins. Any rider pushing it to the Steep n Deep level is a candidate to win more than just the ride of their lives.

The cash prize is all the way up to $2k and could go higher. Offers to sponsor the contest are not too late and can still be submitted to REELcomp.com increasing the cash prize even more. The winner or winners will be announced April 20th. But remember, the footage must be in by April 15th Midnight PT to be considered for the contest.
