Stand Up Paddle World Tour Update day 3 Anglet, France

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 11 May, 2010 : - - Day one of the Stand Up Paddle World Tour in Anglet got off to a great start. The first round of the trials offered chest high consistent surf that showcased the skill level of contestants from all over the world. Early morning low tide had some good lefts, as the tide filled in the peaks became very shifty while still offering bowly little lefts and rights.

10 heats were completed narrowing the field from 40 to 20 trialist. With heavy rains and a dropping swell the trials are on hold and will and tentatively restart on Wednesday, May 12th. Swell predictions are showing good surf to come, and the competitors are ready to restart the action once the waves cooperate.

Competitors advancing into the quarter finals of the trials are: Kyle Mochizuki, Brandon Rambo, Remi Quique, Chris Griffiths, Deniel Alexis, Bruno Andre, David Latastere, Chuck Glynn, Fred Branger, John Hibbard, Edwardo Bage, Nicholas Pinot, Laurent Pinot, Nacho Alvarez, Ibon Amapriain, Stephane Etienne, Kuuikaikapualiokai Kawai, Remy Arauzo, Mathieu Crepel and Oliver Madar. We still have several trial heats to run before we start the quarter finals.
