Surfing in the 80's, the future was back then  |   Slideshow

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 15 May, 2010 : - - It's Autumn here on the Gold Coast. The winds are light and skies are blue and clear. The surf is not very big so I've been spending time putting together some old images.  

Just before Bells this year I had a magazine request for old images of the Rip Curl Pro. When I started looking, I realized I had images going back into the early 70's. Now with a bit of time available, I've been loading them up to the website. As long as the surf stays small I'll be adding more.

Check them out and get ready for a real blast to the past. Surfing in the 80's is filled with names like Mark "MR' Richards, Simon Anderson, Tom Carroll, Tom Curren and Mark 'Occy' Occhulipo and the birth of professional surfing.
