Brazil to focus on World Cup as ocean goes flat  Portuguese

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 1 July, 2010 : - - Sao Sebastiao, Sao Paulo -- Contest organizers of the SuperSurf Internacional have called a first ever two day off to occur in any ASP contests held before in Brazil. With virtually flat conditions on offer until tomorrow, the competitors will have free time to watch the Soccer World Cup match Brazil x Netherlands.

“Projections are saying Friday is the smallest day, so maybe Neptune has sent us a gift as this Friday everyone will be willing to watch Brazil playing in the Fifa World Cup of Soccer”, said Abril Publishing, Sports division Manager, Evandro Abreu. “We’re expecting a fresh pulse of southerly swell for the last two days of the event's waiting period; which will give us enough time to finish the contest with good conditions”.

The surfer too, approved the SuperSurf Internacional organizers decision. “That was simply the best call I’ve heard in all my life,” said a laughing youngster from Sao Paulo, Caio Ibelli, 16, semifinalist in the last two ASP contests held in Brazil. “Not having to wake up early and be able to watch Brazil’s soccer game tomorrow will be a plus”, finished Caio, who takes Paraiba’s Jano Belo, Bernardo lopes from Bahia and surfer from Espirito Santo Krystian Kymmerson on the Saturday’s third heat.

SuperSurf Internacional is organized by Abril Publishing Inc., sponsored by Peugeot and cosponsored by Azzaro and Nicoboco Surfwear. This event has a special help of City of Sao Sebastiao, Maresias Beach Hotels Association, Federacao Paulista de Surf and Associacao de Surf de Sao Sebastiao. This is an ASP South America sanctioned event as an ASP World Star. The finals will be transmitted live on Sunday by ESPN Brazil.
