Maui Chapter has partnered with Community work day for a Historical Island Wide Beach Clean Up!!
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 4 September, 2010 : - -Community Work Day is creating FOUR brand new 1st annual town clean ups modeled after this years 6th Annual Lahaina Town Clean Up. There will be a total of 5 town clean ups taking place along with 21 smaller clean ups all over the island of Maui during the month of September & October.
As a part of the "Get the Drift and Bag It" campaign of Keep America Beautiful (KAB), in association with the International Coastal Clean Up. All the data from our clean up gets compiled with all of Hawaii's...then the U.S....then the World!!!There are MANY ways to get involved:
VOLUNTEERS: We need ALOT of volunteers at three major levels: Town Organizers: over see and be the point person for their town clean up. Team Leaders: lead one of several groups of volunteers during the clean up process in specific zone. Beach Cleaners: be one of the thousands of people involved in making your island more beautiful. Join in on the front lines and get the drift and bag it!! Please contact Matt for more details and to see where you can be of maximum service.
SPONSORS: Food Sponsors- to provide food for volunteers in your town. Eco Sponsors- to provide bio compostable bags, cups, and plateware. Or monetary donation for these supplies Media Sponsor- to provide mic, movie, video screen, projection, and speakers.
