Chloé Byron Memorial Longboard Championship at Bondi Beach, 17th October, 2010
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 5 September, 2010 : - - One of Australia’s biggest gatherings of longboard riders will mark the eighth anniversary of the Bali Bombing and compete in the Chloé Byron Memorial Longboard Championship at Bondi Beach on Sunday, 17th October, 2010. More than 200 of Australia’s top men and women long-boarders will compete, with all proceeds going to the Homicide Victims Support Group, a charity nominated by Chloe’s father, Dave Byron.
Hosted and supported by leading surf companies, the Chloe Byron Championship has become Bondi’s biggest surf based community event with organizers expecting over 1,000 people to be involved in a day of surf, music, food and celebrity spotting. Competitors and some spectators will paddle out to beyond the break at Bondi at 1.00pm to form a circle to quietly remember Chloe.
The Bondi Longboard Club is a non-profit, locally-based sports club. All proceeds will be donated to ‘HVSG - Homicide Victims’ Support Group’. We welcome any support or donation you can offer, all proceeds of the raffle will be donated to Homicide Victims’ Support Group. We couldn’t make it happen without the valuable support of our local community and generous businesses. If you wish to donate any gifts to the Memorial Day, please contact our Event Organiser Mr Steve Czintos on 0411 767 29.
