Patagonia Opens Second Retail Store in Hawaii
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 9 September, 2010 : - - Patagonia opened its second Hawaiian retail store in Honolulu's Ward Centers, representing the company's 27th store. The store, which opened for business in late August, will celebrate with a Community Day Celebration on Saturday, September 18, from 10-8.
As part of the opening celebration, a number of local environmental groups, including Surfrider Oahu, Kahea, Blue Planet Foundation and North Shore Community Land Trust, will be on hand to provide information to attendees and encourage volunteers to get involved in local sustainability activities. Consumers will also be able to sign up for giveaways. Light refreshments will also be served.
"Every Patagonia store is active in local environmental causes, and this new store will continue that tradition. At Patagonia, you can count on two things: finding the high-quality, environmentally responsible products you want from a company that pioneered corporate environmental activism on both a local and global scale," said Robert Cohen, vice president of Patagonia's global retail division. "Our Hale'iwa store has been very well supported by the local residents and visitors to The Northshore and we look forward to being an active part of the Honolulu community with this new location in Ward Centers."
Patagonia's sales last year were over $330 million.
