Ten Times Panamanian National Champion Pucha Carcia launches 2012 Calendar | Slideshow
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 26 January, 2012 : - - On the night of the 21 January at Bocas Bambu Beach Bar and Restaurant, Bocas del Toro, Panama's famous female surf ambassador Pucha Garcia launched her much anticipated 2012 Calendar. The 'Premier Party' was packed with friends, local media, surfers and lucky vacationers that had the chance to be formally introduced to the latin beauty and return home with a personalized autographed calendar.
Bambu Beach really turned it up a notch for the 'Premier Party' with a South American fire juggler, Shanti Roots jamming classic reggae tunes, a local indigenous duo from near-by Isla Bastimentos dancing caribbean style salsa and Bolivar Andres' Behind the Lens Video of the calendar shoot. It was an amazing party.
Most photos for this years calendar were taken in different locations around the Caribbean Ocean island paradise of Bocas del Toro including; Playa Estrella (Star Fish Beach), Coral Cay, Red Frog Beach, facade of Jampan Office in Bocas town, on the Patron surf touring sailing yacht, around downtown Bocas, Playa Paunch for surf photo and inside Bocas Bambu Beach Restaurant and Bar. The rest of the photos were taken at the Panama National Park, Isla Iguana, located in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of the small town of Pedasi, near the famous local surf break of Pucha, Playa Venao.

Pucha is an internationally respected 10 time surfing champion and a full time sun-kissed blonde bombshell. She is homegrown in Panama (Pedasi) and she is everything Panama. She goes as big as the barrels in the Pacific and the Caribbean and she is as hot as the midday sun, 9 degrees north of the equator.
She loves her homeland and is happy to share it with the world with her 7th calendar. Last year’s edition had an ecological theme and though the girl still loves our planet, 2012 is all about her motherland. In her latest work, she invites you to Panama’s pristine beaches and she does it with stunning beauty and style.
“I wanted to show the different beaches that Panama has to offer,” says the surfer/model. The pages feature Pucha posing in swimwear around the country in such places as Starfish Beach, Coral Cay, Red Frog Beach, Bocas Bambu Beach Restaurant and Bar, the Jampan boat, Barco Patron, the center of Bocas Town, and Isla Iguana. Most of the images you will see in the photos can be found in the divine archipelago that is Bocas del Toro.
So why Bocas? When asked about why these Caribbean islands continue to attract more and more people from all over the world, the senorita had three words for us: “Las olas, las fiestas, y el ambiente.” “The waves, the parties, and the atmosphere.”
Well in that case, and in true Bocas fashion: it was a spectacular evening. Shanti Roots was in the place, rocking live reggae music, there was a fire dancing show, photographer Andres Bolivar presented his surf video “Making of” on the big screen and there was no shortage of Coronas and delicious pizza.
Tourists and the people that make up a thriving surfing community in Bocas gathered to celebrate what makes this place paradise: the great sport of surfing, the natural beauty, the extraordinary people and raging good times.
The best part about the evening was the woman who made it all possible: Miss Garcia aka La Puchita. The surf star not only made herself super available, but was eager to meet every single person who walked through the entrance of the restaurant. It’s a breath of fresh air to find successful people that are humble and have the love and respect for their fans to take time to meet them and have a conversation. It didn’t matter whether you had ever even heard of the surf star, if you were at the restaurant that night, you probably met her and if you happen to be a fan, you should definitely feel like you’re appreciated.
