Forays into the Final Frontier have kept Kepa Acero very busy
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 27 January, 2012 : - - On his journey deep into Patagonia Kepa Acero questions himself when he realizes he is totally alone in one of the most remote places on earth, and that he faces certain death should he not make this last treacherous crossing to find surf. In true Kepa form he goes a little bit crazy and then finds a fantastic left. The video is the latest adventure from Europe's most surf stoked traveler.
During the year 2011, Kepa Acero will venture on a never before experienced journey: the search and exporation of new surfbreaks around the last frontiers of the world, ALASKA and PATAGONIA. "THE FINAL FRONTIER" is a new project where Kepa will try to surf the two poles, passing through PERU.
Supported by the project 2010 "5 WAVES 5 CONTINENTS," Kepa will try again this new solo experience discovering new waves in extreme situations in the original context of surfing-adventure, and in intimate contact with the human, social and geographical environment.
Kepa Acero, true to his line, took a quantitativ leap with the project "5 WAVES 5 CONTINENTS" (solo trip 6 months in 2010 with the goal of surfing 5 world class waves in the 5 continents), which had a great media coverage.
This year 2011, after a new exhibition at BELAZA GALLERY ("WE DREAM ALONE", exhibition of surfboards that would be used in the projects of this year, painted by different artists) was launched to surfing the Way to Santiago ("THE NORTHERN ROUTE") with another great media coverage and with the icing of the short “The northern route", edited by himself and prizewinner in the most famous Surfilm festival in the world (the Surfilm FESTIVAL of San Sebastian, July 2011), projected in the Surfilm Festival of New York (September 2011) and Surfilm Festival of London (November 2011) and finalist in the “Yalluping Surfilm Festival (Australia) which will be screened on January 20-22, 2012.
