Noosa Festival of Surfing:  We are back – and bigger than ever before.

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 19 July, 2015 - The Noosa Festival of Surfing announces that the first round of on-line competitor entries is officially open for the 25th consecutive year of “8 days of pure stoke”. The largest surfing event in the world (in terms of competitor numbers) is returning 5-12 March 2016, boasting more divisions than ever before with the addition of a Girls’ Under 15.

Recent years have seen an inspiring growth in junior competitors, but with some girls having to compete against surfers three or four years their senior. Now, with under 15 events for both boys and girls, the Noosa Festival of Surfing will offer specific divisions for six decades of surfers, from the juniors to the over 70s.

These, of course, will be in addition to all the familiar favourites, including the Old Mal, the Logger Pro and the Noserider divisions. Not only is the Noosa Festival of Surfing continuing to expand its demographic, it is also hosting a diversity of entrants within the specialist events. 2015’s competition saw both genders and surfers spanning almost 25 years vying for several of these titles.

The Noosa Festival of Surfing is anticipating an event bigger and better than ever before, with a continued surge of interest from an international contingent that now includes Italy, China, Vanuatu, Taiwan and Portugal along with the more familiar surfing countries, with families and clubs bringing with them competitors aged from seven to 70 plus for Noosa’s internationally renowned celebration of surfing.
