More than a dozen shark sightings not far from shore in Santa Cruz
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 26 June, 2015 - Santa Cruz, California - More shark sightings have been reported this week in Santa Cruz County.
A lifeguard spotted a shark just a mile from Seacliff State Beach, causing kids taking part in the area's Junior Lifeguard program to be evacuated from the water.
“We were playing one of the competition games and they told us to get out of the water,” Alex recalled to Santa Cruz's News Channel 5. “They took out the buoys, got them as fast as they could. They stopped all the games and we basically had free time for the rest of the day.”
Specialized Helicoters reported more than 13 sharks swimming off that area, though their species is yet to be known.
