Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 26 July, 2014 - A graduate of the prestigious Ecole Centrale, Maximilien Brabec has held key executive operational positions in companies, founded start-ups and created the strategic department at Ernst Young Entrepreneurs IDF. In 2004, he set up his own consultancy specializing in innovation and strategy to help businesses move outside the status quo. The objective is to help create opportunities and launch permanent innovative dynamics in order to acquire pertinent development strategies in this ever-evolving world. Maximilien has assisted many well-known start-ups and consulted in drive management.

His speech
His presentations focus on "out of the box" thinking, efficient implementation of innovations and innovative business models. He has also actively participated in a EuroSIMA Think Tank seminar. He is the author of several books and is an APM expert speaker as well as an affiliate lecturer at ESCP Europe Business School.

Joe Noonan - Author and nature shamanic guide

As a shamanic nature guide, Joe Noonan, aka Joebaby, has been bringing groups of executives and business leaders into many different kinds of adventures around the world to highlight the communication and leadership tools he teaches. He’s taken them sailing on a 100’ wooden tall ship, whitewater rafting through rapids, swinging through rainforest trees in the Caribbean, and swimming with wild dolphins, whales and sharks in Hawaii and the Bahamas. He also uses spearfishing and freediving as ways to help people re-awaken our primordial relationship with nature.

He helps business teams re-connect with a primal means of communication and collaboration he calls ‘limbic connection’. A nature lover, interspecies communicator and dolphin whisperer, he’s been fed fish by wild dolphins, swum alongside humpback whales and their calves, and been bitten by a shark (28 stitches) in pursuit of his own dinner. He’s been given the name ‘Merman’ by native elders, acknowledging him as one who brings together the tribes of the land with the tribes of the sea. He champions a joyful approach to life, and will share specific tools we can all use to bring harmony and joy to all our relationships; both in the workplace and at home.

His speech
In business and in life, we compete or we collaborate. We are well versed in the competitive ‘win/lose’ approach, it has been the dominant paradigm for business, but it is the collaborative, ‘win/win’ approach that brings us much more fulfilling and longer lasting results. As we are becoming increasingly aware of both our interconnectedness and our collective impact on our world, the evolution to a collaborative culture grows in appeal. Operating from a ‘win/win’ perspective, we become happier, more inspired, creative and productive. In this program, we’ll explore some of the ways that we are hard-wired to work together for a common vision. We are excited to have this ocean shaman join us at the Surf Summit, his presence and participation is sure to be unique and precious opportunities for a different outlook on life.

Greg Long is Big Wave surfing’s modern hero

At 31, he is the only surfer to have won all three of the most prestigious Big Wave Competitions in the world. The Quiksilver “Eddie” at Waimea Bay, Hawaii, Mavericks at Half Moon Bay, California, and the Red Bull South Africa at Dungeons.  He remains a perpetual XXL Global Big Wave Award nominee and repeat winner in multiple categories, including most recently 2013-14 “Ride of the Year.”  His passion for exploration, discovery and progressive mastery of extreme surf spots, has taken him around the globe in search of the worlds largest surfable waves.

In late 2012 this pursuit nearly cost him his life during a trip to “Cortes Bank,” the legendary underwater seamount more than 100 miles off the California coast.  Rescued following a brutal wipeout and multiple-wave hold down, the unconscious and nearly drown Long, recovered sufficiently to return to the big wave competition arena and winners podium just weeks later, going on to claim the Big Wave World Championship title for 2013.

Unknown to all but his closest friends and family, Greg waged a continuing battle with both fear and doubt throughout 2013, leading him on a remarkable journey of self-discovery, personal growth, and a new-found sense of joy and exhilaration for life, which he now shares through an intimate and inspiring presentation to audiences around the globe.
