Bright future for Wavelength Mag under new ownership


Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 19 March 2004: - - There are exciting developments in store for “Wavelength”, the UK’s longest running surfing magazine. For over 22 years the magazine has been bringing surfing to a mass audience and introduced a whole new generation to the sport.

From April’s issue the magazine is set to grow under its new parent company, Cornwall and Devon Media Ltd. The magazine will continue to evolve by expanding its photo-led stories, the addition of new sections, more features on surfing in the UK and abroad plus interviews with kings of the sport such as Andy Irons.

More research will be conducted into the reader’s relationship with the magazine and into customer behavior, to understand purchasing habits.

Other investments to be made by Cornwall and Devon Media Ltd will include new promotional and distribution activity such as outlet expansion, increasing subscriber numbers and presence at events.

The magazine remains at £2.99 but will be stronger in terms of value for money as there will be free DVDs, surf wax and some great stickers with future issues.

The next issue will be on the shelves from April 3.
