Costa Rica team proves to be one of the top countries in surfing 

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 3 November, 2014 - For the first time in the history of surfing in Costa Rica, the national team will return to the country with the copper medal, after closing fourth in the ISA World Games that ended in Peru.

Thanks to the new World Championship won by Anthony Fillingim, sixth place Leilani McGonagle, pushing the team for the playoffs and conviction of the Federation of Surf with the appointment of Gustavo Corrales coaching, Costa Rica achieved its best global ISA result in the history of their involvement since 1990.

The process of this group which started since last August, now harvested the fruits of a committed team and certain that the world title, will be in the hands of Costa Rica in the near future.

"Today is a day full of blessings, getting to the final was my goal since I got to Peru. I want to thank my team because this was an amazing selection process that resulted in a binding group with the best vibe I've experienced. This win did for my country and I dedicate it to my country, "Anthony said.

After the Olympic medals won by Anthony and Costa Rica, in addition to those achieved by the Master Craig "Tequila" Schieber in 2011 and 2013, the Noe Mar McGonagle as a junior in 2012 and two in Leilani McGonagle in 2014 as a junior.
