Tough surf conditions at Cape Bridgewater for The isurfwith Victorian Tour
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 16 March, 2016 - The isurfwith Victorian Tour presented by Play It Safe By The Water travelled to the far west of Victoria, stopping at the beautiful Cape Bridgewater beach. Less than ideal conditions met participants, with a stiff south easterly wind and a small swell.
Several young males joined the Surfing Victoria team, featuring professional WQS surfers Cahill Bell-Warren and Tristan Forras, for a high performance surf coaching session. All participants were shown an elite warm up program and some crucial water safety skills before getting in the water and learning from two of Victoria’s elite athletes and high performance coaches.
The surfers worked on a wide range of skills, valuable assets for improving performance levels. Surfing Victoria’s High Performance Coaching Director, Bell-Warren was proud of the tenacity shown by the participants in the tough surf.
"It certainly wasn’t easy today at Cape Bridgewater, these local kids pushed forward and caught some great waves" said Bell-Warren. "They were super keen to work on their technique in the surf and Tristan and I saw some big improvements in only a short period of time”.
“Who knows, we may have just done a session with the next Adam Robertson from the area!”.
The aim of the isurfwith Victorian Tour presented by Play It Safe By The Water is to use positive male role models and professional surf coaches from Surfing Victoria to pass on their skills and knowledge to the next generation of male surfers.
The tour moves to Mallacoota on Thursday, before heading back to the Mornington Peninsula on Friday.
