Event window for WSL Junior season opener begins Wednesday

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 30 March, 2015 - Almada, Portugal - The Caparica Primavera Surf Fest powered by O’Neill event window starts on Wednesday, with over 120 competitors already gearing up for the inaugural Junior event this season in Europe.

An exciting new addition to the 2015 Junior series, this event has received a massive support from competitors and will feature the very best up-and-coming surfers from all over Europe. The promising forecast for later this week should provide surfers with great conditions to display their level of performance.

Last year’s top10 finishers on the regional rankings Tim Bisso, Andy Criere and Nelson Cloarec will come in as event favorites but will be facing hungry newcomers and an international junior star in Kanoa Igarashi when the event commences.

Among the women’s field, in the absence of reigning European Junior Champion Tessa Thyssen, the field will reignite the exciting battle for first place that unfolded last year while all Portuguese-eyes will turn to local favorite Teresa Bonvalot to claim the win on home-turf.

Complementing a busy four-day event waiting period, a large music festival will keep everyone entertained with top Portuguese DJs and bands rocking the dedicated outdoor scene on the water’s edge.
