Surfers Impress Crowd over Flosstradamus Soundtrack to Close Out Second Day of Action in Ocean City, Md.


Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 23 July, 2011 : - - Burr Ridge, Ill. – July 22, 2011 – The Dew Tour Pantech Open played host to the first-ever surf competition in Tour history Friday night as Eric and Evan Geiselman competed alongside Ocean City locals, Vince Boulanger and Colin Herlihy.  Over a backdrop of the musical stylings of Chicago DJ duo, Flosstradamus, Evan Geiselman took home three victories, winning the overall with a score of 7.6 in his final session, Best Trick with slob grab, and Highest Air on a frontside 360.  Local surfer Boulanger took second in only his third tow-at session.

The Tour’s premier surf competition was composed of two open tow-at sessions.  Fans watched from the shores of Ocean City, Md., as the four surfers took 25-minute sessions in the opening round banking their two best waves in the hopes of advancing to finals.  After the opening round, Geiselmanand Boulanger moved on to a final 30-minute tow-at session.  After winning the coin toss, Geiselman elected to go last and put the punctuation on the second day’s festivities with technical and stylish surfing.

The Nike 6.0 Expression Session marks the debut of surfing at the Dew Tour, made possible by the unique beach venue location in Ocean City.  The contest capped off a day of competition which included Skate Vert, Skate Bowl, and BMX Park semi-finals, welcoming hoards of fans looking to catch the action. The Pantech Open will continue tomorrow with Skate Bowl and BMX Park Finals followed by a free concert from Kid Cudi and The Cool Kids at 7:30pm on the beach.  Fans can catch all the action on NBC with coverage starting Saturday from 3-5 pm and continuing Sunday from 4-6 pm.
