Global Surf Industries newsletter: contest winners, Bob McTavish, more

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 1 October, 2007 : - - It is with great pleasure and pride that GSI this week launched the 2008 range of McTavish surfboards. The new range consists of five models, including Australia’s best selling Longboard - the McTavish Fireball. The new range will be available in Australia October '07 and December '07 in the USA

Bob McTavish founded McTavish surfboards in 1962, and he is as stoked as we are about the new deal. Kel interviewed Bob a few weeks ago, the result - a fantastic interview with Bob discussing his first surfing experiences, his early years as a shaper and his never-ending passion for designing surfboards.

Life is Better when you surf - competition results

Over the month of August we ran our "Life is Better when you surf" competition. When we decided to run the competition we thought we might get a few good stories, but we were overwhelmed by the calibre of the stories we received. The part that surfing plays in so many lives is astounding, and this competition has only reinforced what we already know - Life truly is Better when you surf!

Thanks to all the people who entered, deciding the winner was no mean feat. Below is a list of the lucky winners, you can read their stories here.
