In addition to the enlarged draw and longer event window, Telstra Tweed Stores have come onboard as naming rights sponsor. Telstra Tweed Marketing Manager Scott Fletcher, sees the partnership as the perfect opportunity to give back to the local surfing community.
“As a proud sponsor of Cabarita Boardriders, we're excited to extend our support to the club and the local community by partnering with Surfing NSW for the next three years to help make this new QS event at Cabarita, a huge success for the community as well as the competitors. “
Member for Tweed, Geoff Provest, said: “The NSW Pro Surf Series is a great regional event, supported by the NSW Government through its tourism and major events agency Destination NSW. With some of Australia’s top surfers coming to Cabarita Beach to compete, the event will provide a great boost to our local visitor economy and showcase the beautiful beaches we have here in the Tweed.”
