What you didn't see on the webcast: Hugs and pole-standing
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 24 April, 2015 - G'day again from WA, The 2015 Drug Aware Margaret River Pro wrapped up the last three heats today with former winner John John Florence fighting out the 40 minute final with Adriano de Souza in clean 6'-8' offshore Main Break.
De Souza claimed a tight fought victory despite a comeback from Florence in the last 10 minutes. The win puts the Brazilian at the top of the ratings going into the next event in Brazil.
De Souza has had an amazing run through the Australian leg of the world tour with a 3rd place finish in the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast, a 2nd on a count-back to Mick Fanning at the Rip Curl Bells Beach and now a win at Margaret River.
Organizers had been hoping to finish the contest at The Box but conditions were unfavourable this morning so the event was at Main Break and utilized the lefts and rights that were on offer.
