Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 1 March, 2015 - Coolaganta, Queensland - The Quiksilver and Roxy Pro Gold Coast presented by BOQ has been called OFF for the day with only small surf on offer at Snapper Rocks. Event organizers will reconvene tomorrow morning to assess conditions and make the next call.

“We're going to be off for the day,” Jessi Miley-Dyer, WSL Deputy Commissioner, said. “It looks really small today and it's looking better for the rest of the event window so we'll be back tomorrow to take another look.”

Three-time World Champion Mick Fanning (AUS) will face wildcard Dane Reynolds (USA) in the opening heat of Round 2 when competition resumes, while 11-time World Champion Kelly Slater (USA) will take on trials winner Jack Freestone (AUS) in Heat 2, both battling for a place in Round 3.

Reigning six-time WSL Champion Stephanie Gilmore (AUS) will also surf in elimination Round 2 after suffering defeat at the hands of an in-form Silvana Lima (BRA) in Round 1. Gilmore will battle trials winner Bronte Macaulay (AUS) in Heat 3.
