Kai Lenny and Jamie Mitchell to have a go

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 13 September, 2014 - San Diego - Revolt Surf announces a brand new paddle event slated for late September on Mission Bay in San Diego. The inaugural 'Sunday Sunday Sunday Races' will combine SUP & Prone Paddle racing, Pro Am Beach Volleyball, Live Music & more to celebrate the Southern California beach lifestyle.

Top names in the sport including Hawaiian phenom Kai Lenny and "The best paddler in the World" Jamie Mitchell - San Diego native & World Class SUP athlete Chuck Glynn and ISA World SUP Champion Sean Poynter have all confirmed they will attend.

While best known for their grassroots Pro Am Surf Series and cutting edge, active lifestyle magazine, Revolt will step into the SUP & Prone Paddle racing arena this fall. With the help of other forward thinking companies from in and around San Diego, Revolt Surf plans to develop an event that focuses on more than just the racing element.

"While Paddle Racing is the core of this event, we want to add elements that draw from other demographics. The Pro Am Volleyball tournament, live music & an outdoor retail area can conceivably attract future paddlers & help grow the sport. San Diego is home to some of the top athletes in these sports & we want San Diegans & paddle race fans everywhere to understand & embrace that."
Divisions include 10 mile, 5 mile & 1.5 mile courses for Men, Women & Juniors - Unlimited, 14' and under, 12'6" and under - plus a 'Drag Race Elimination' course. A Kid's Fun Half Mile Run for the little paddlers will take place entirely inside Bonita Cove where all eyes will be on the young athletes. An action sports retail area will be open for athletes and fans to browse and shop or even demo the newest equipment available.

Companies including Red Bull, Westcoast Paddlesports, OEX Point Loma, Kicker Audio, Hoven Vision, POP Paddleboards, Futures Fins, Waterman's Sunscreen, ZipCar, Kono's Coffee, SD Coastkeepers,, & True Beach have all partnered with Revolt to help grow the event.

True Beach is hosting an Open Pro Am Beach Volleyball Qualifying tournament - top teams will advance to the Healthy Souls Invitational Pro Volleyball Tournament held during Pacific Beach Fest the following weekend. Live performances by Beach/Rock/Reggae band Safety Orange are scheduled from noon until 4. Gourmet Food Trucks will be onsite to feed the hungry athletes & spectators.  Admission to the venue is free & the event is family friendly.
