Kai Lenny to drop in on Sunday Sunday Sunday SUP event
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 22 September, 2014 - San Diego - RVLT Surf announces new partnerships with high performance SIC Paddleboards, TOMTOM Navigation and Red Bull. The countdown to the inaugural SSSR event September 28, is on!
This weekend will see professional athletes mix with weekend warriors (and SUP newbies) at the SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY SUP & prone paddle races at Bonita Cove. Multiple divisions & varied courses are designed to challenge the elite & encourage beginners with several levels of difficulty.
Stand Up Paddle is the fastest growing watersport on the planet, but the ocean is not necessarily for everyone. The flatwater courses are designed to encourage everyone to participate, regardless of age, ability or conditioning.
Red Bull ties together the racing and volleyball elements with Pro athlete appearances and onsite activations this Sunday. Red Bull athlete and #1 ranked Five Time World Champion Kai Lenny will make an appearance along with Sean Poynter and Jamie Mitchell to sign autographs & interact w/ fans & media.
Local SUP Champions Chuck Glynn & Noa Hopper will compete along with other distance & sprint athletes to warm up for the Battle Of The Paddle, taking place the following weekend at Salt Creek.
"The cool thing about the SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY Races is that... pretty much anyone can participate. Of course we will attract the elite distance & sprint racers but being that every race course is mapped out within Mission Bay and on flatwater - virtually anyone can participate. Men, women, juniors & kids - from beginners & novice to expert - we will have something for everyone."

True Beach will hold a pro am beach volleyball qualifier where top teams advance to the Healthy Souls Pro Beach Invitational taking place the following weekend at Pacific BeachFest. The addition of a pro-am beach volleyball qualifier will add another element of competition to the event while attracting potential new paddlers.
