Segura Viudas Cava partners with MSA’s Women’s Logger Invitational

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 8 September, 2015 - The Malibu Surfing Association’s Classic Invitational is the United States’ most prestigious club-level surfing contest and the premier event in the Coalition of Surfing Clubs annual series.

Malibu, California - Segura Viudas, the Spanish Cava, is pouring itself into competitive surfing as the Official Partner of the Malibu Surfing Association Women’s Logger Invitational. The inaugural event, which will benefit the Keep-A-Breast Foundation and Surfaid, will be held at Malibu’s Surfrider Beach on September 11, 2015.

“We are thrilled to have Segura Viudas as our partner presenting the Malibu Women's Logger Invitational long board competition, featuring the best female competitors in the world,” said John Hinkle, President of The Malibu Surfing Association. “Each competitor invited is highly respected and brings a level of surfing excellence to the legendary point, which is fitting given Segura Viudas’ long tradition of quality.”

Segura Viudas, handcrafted in the renowned Penedés region of Spain, is part of the Freixenet Group, a world leader in sparkling wine production. Merging the wine’s rich history and exciting flavor with the style and artistry of the world of longboarding was an easy decision for Segura Viudas’ Brand Manager Josep Ferrer, a fourth generation Ferrer family member.

“Segura Viudas is a brand that has always celebrated the adventurous and The MSA Classic embodies that spirit,” said Ferrer. “We are proud to support the tradition of the Malibu Surfing Association’s Classic and especially excited to see an incredible line-up of talent for the Women’s Logger Invitational which promises to be a truly historic event.”

The Segura Viudas crest, seen on the wine’s modernized packaging, portrays a unified family of wines that celebrates the winery’s history, while appealing to a consumer audience that values authenticity, individuality and adventure. These aspects are also reflected by the brand’s consumer outreach in outdoor and adventure sports competitions, such as the Women’s Logger invitational, highlighting the greatness that comes from within.
