Creed SUP Sunday Sunday Sunday Paddle Race

Bahia Cove, Mission Bay San Diego
9 August 2015

The Pro Elite 8-Mile attracts global contingent

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 6 August, 2015 - San Diego - The Creed SUP Sunday Sunday Sunday Paddle Race series Presented by Aztek Paddles & Westcoast Paddlesports returns to Bahia Cove in Mission Bay this Sunday, August 9.

The events are open to all SUP & Prone paddlers - multiple distance courses, are all run entirely within Mission Bay. The Pro Elite 8 mile with a cash purse attracts top athletes from around the globe. Shorter 4 & 1.5 mile races are designed to attract paddlers from beginners to advanced - distance paddlers or sprinters - these events provide great competition for men & women of all ages. Past events have seen world class athletes compete including Mo Frietas, Chuck Glynn, Peter Shoemaker & Ryan Helm.

A virtual 'Who's who' of  the Southern California SUP & Prone paddle Industry, top brands & manufacturers will line the banks of Bonita Cove, offering athletes & racing enthusiasts a look at their latest gear and even opportunities to demo their products. Fun beach activities, raffles, LIVE music, food & drink will keep spectators engaged as the race drama unfolds. Rock and Roll San Diego presents local Beach/Reggae/Rock band Coastal Frequency - performing LIVE at noon.

RVLT Surf has partnered with The Surfrider Foundation, Sea Save Foundation and Ocean Force Foundation, offering them the busy event platforms to raise awareness for critical environmental issues. The SD Burn Institute, Swell Hearts and Challenged Athletes Foundation will also be at the events to raise awareness & funding for their important causes.

RVLT Surf co-founder Leslie Terhorst explains, "One of our goals this season with both the Sunday Paddle Race Series as well as the Revolt Summer Surf Series, is to Pay-It-Forward. There are so many great charities out there and we've partnered with several this season to spotlight their cause." Leslie continues, "The San Diego Burn Institute & San Diego Firefighters are new partners for 2015. We know there are a lot of people here in SD County that have been impacted by fire, so this just made sense."

The Battle At BeachFest on October 3 will include the Firefighter's Challenge. San Diego County Firefighters will compete in an exclusive SDFF surf division during BeachFest with all proceeds from the division going to the San Diego Burn Institute.

RVLT Surf co-founder Brian Terhorst adds "Firefighters will 'Call Out' other surfing firefighters or even entire fire stations via social media. (Kinda like the Ice Bucket Challenge from last summer) There is a huge number of surfing firefighters in San Diego County & we know how competitive these firefighters can be. This will be a great event helping raise money for all the important work the Burn Institute is involved in."

Combining the Firefighter's Challenge with The Battle at BeachFest - featuring a 6 mile Pro Am SUP & Prone Paddle distance race, a SUP Cross style technical race & multiple SUP Surf Divisions will help make this a unique, signature San Diego sporting event. 70,000 people are expected to attend BeachFest on October 3.

RVLT SURF is supported by CREED SUP, Westcoast Paddle Sports, Aztek Paddles, Red Bull Energy Drink, Kicker Audio, RediNation, OEX Point Loma, Mission Bay Sports Center, Elite Paddle Training @MBSC, Kings Paddle Sports, YOLOboards, ISLE Surf & Sup, Jimmy Lewis, Focus SUP, Desolation Outdoors SUP, Futures Fins, The Shrackle Box, KONOS Coffee, Progress MFG., Big Bear Mountain Resorts, Haggen Foods, Wonderland Ocean Pub, Energy Hauler, Rock and Roll San Diego, SurfersVillage.com, XtremeVideo, Planet X TV & Revolt In Style Magazine
