Social media posts say surfer is Tahitian Tuhit Haumani

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 2 February, 2015 - A surfer was critically injured at Pipeline right after the Volcom Pipe Pro ended. Oahu emergency services report that lifeguards treated a 25-year-old man. Social media posts report the man is Tuhit Haumani, but that has not been confirmed.

The man was found floating and unresponsive in the water at Pipe just after 2:00 pm. Surfers helped lifeguards put the man on the back of a jet ski as the lifeguards took him to shore where they performed CPR until paramedics arrived.

Shortly thereafter paramedics took the surfer to Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu.
