Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 19 August, 2006 : - - We have been working closely with Team Rider Joel Fitzgerald this winter developing our line of 2007 top-end summer suits which, we can safely say, rate among the best high performance wetsuits on the market. Previews can be seen at the Surf Shop Show, Stand B50.
This years company trip to the Maldives gave us a real opportunity to critically review our accessories, updating and improving on what was already a benchmark range. Innovative design and new packaging solutions make this range a stand-out.
2006 has been a bumper year for our surfboard sales. Our own Tiki Customs have had a hugely popular response, while the Webbers, Waldens and Seven surfboards have pretty much sold themselves! On the epoxy front, Bonga Perkins win at Pipe on an off the shelf SouthPoint 91 proved just how far this technology has come, and how good these shapes are.
BIG NEWS for 2007; Al Merrick has produced a new range under the Anacapa label. I designed a limited second line of surfboards which will allow a broader range of surfers to get aspects of my designs in an entry - intermediate level surfboard Al Merrick. These will be available in the UK exclusively through Tiki.
SouthPoint has also teamed up with the legendary waterman Dave Kalama and master shaper Jeff Timpone. The Maui duo have been refining 5 shapes, due for release late 2006.
2006 has already been a huge year for Tiki. Order early to avoid disappointment next year. To preview any of these market leading products, Tiki can be found on Stand B50. 5th,6th and 7th September 2006: Tuesday: 9.30 - 7.00pm; Wednesday: 9.30 -6.00pm and Thursday: 9.30 - 4.30pm.
