Joel Parkinson and Toyota announce partnership
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 20 August, 2015 - Coolangatta - Toyota has strengthened its relationship with surfing in Australia, announcing 2012 world champion Joel Parkinson as an official ambassador.
Parkinson, who has always enjoyed the adventure of off-road driving and an active lifestyle, has been provided with a LandCruiser 200 Series Sahara complete with Toyota Genuine Accessories, which will complement his lifestyle perfectly.
“I’ve always dreamed of owning a LandCruiser and got to do that a few years ago, but now to be actually driving one as an ambassador for Toyota is a huge honour. I am a big accessories enthusiast so to have all the gear to go with the car from Toyota Genuine Accessories is fantastic.”
Toyota is a major partner of Surfing Australia, in particular their involvement in the Original Source Australian Boardriders Battle.The series national final has been won the last two years by Snapper Rocks Surfriders Club of which passionate club surfer Parkinson is a prominent member.
Toyota is already a major sponsor of key Surfing Australia programs including the Original Source Australian Boardriders Battle, the bcu Australian Surf Festival, the Australian Surfing Awards, the Toyota Australian SUP Titles and the Hurley Surfing Australia High Performance Centre (HPC).
Toyota Australia’s divisional manager marketing, Brad Cramb, said Parkinson would be a great ambassador for the brand.
