“Super Hero” fancy dress Expression session  

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 29 September, 2014 - UK independent clothing & lifestyle brand Elusive presents the 8th Annual Open of Surf 2014. The Elusive Welsh Open has a strong association with Porthcawl, hosting the event on seven previous occasions. The town has a rich heritage of surfing and is home to a handful of past champions. 

“We’ve received excellent local support for this event right from the start back in 2006. The town is a perfect location with excellent amenities and the beaches right on the door step, and it promises to be a great fun event," said the owner of Elusive, Nick Clewer. 

In conjunction with the event, there will be a “Super Hero” fancy dress Expression session with all proceeds going to the Wave Project Cymru.  he Wave Project is a not for profit CIC delivering six-week surfing courses for young people with mental health difficulties. 

There will be an Open, Women’s & Open Longboard category, plus prizes for the highest placed U/18 in each category. Prizes include a custom shaped shortboard, women’s wetsuit, sunglasses, skateboards, tail pads, clothing and discount shopping vouchers. Local radio station Bridge FM will be covering the day’s events that include non-stop surfing action, skateboard demonstration and BBQ.
