Xpreshon Big Wave World Tour Announces Three Events Ready To Roll

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 1 November, 2013 : - - Oceanside California - The Xpreshon Big Wave World Tour announces the beginning of the waiting period for three of the hottest surfing events on Tour. Starting on November 1st, 2013, all three events have a waiting period that extends through March 31, 2014.

This will allow contest organizers to monitor and examine huge ocean storms out of the Northern Hemisphere across the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans looking for the correct combination of swell height, interval and ocean surface conditions for these one-day events.

Co-founder of Xpreshon Jason Webb had this to say about the tour: "We are stoked to see the start of the waiting period for the Northern Hemisphere leg of the tour. With the caliber of big wave surfers, the cracking swells expected and the ability to watch it live on your PC with the Xpreshon Windows 8 app or on the largest screen in your house via the Xpreshon Xbox 360 app (available in Australia only), it will be one of the industry game changing experiences in Big Wave surfing."
The three venues now in waiting are:
Arnette Punta Galea Challenge - Basque Country, Europe
Body Glove Mavericks Invitational Presented by Go Pro – Half Moon Bay, CA, USA
Seatka Pro - Nelscott Reef, Oregon, USA

Once the waves exceed 30-foot faces, organizers will signal the “Green Light” approximately 72 hours prior to the start day. This will activate all invited surfers and alternates to get to the venue and ready themselves for competition.
Some of the famous big wave surfers set to compete include: Greg Long (USA), Mark Healey (Haw), Peter Mel (USA), Jamie Sterling (Haw), Grant Baker (South Africa), Carlos Burle (Brazil), Shawn Dollar (USA), Ben Wilkinson (Australia), Naxto Gonzalez (Basque Country) along with many more big wave chargers who will be chasing prize money, fame and the glory of being crowned 2013/2014 Xpreshon Big Wave World Champion.
Shawn Dollar, Xpreshon Big Wave World Tour Surfer and Guinness Book of World Records holder for the biggest paddle-in wave in history had this to say, "I'm really looking forward to this winter and can't wait to see the first big swell form. Myself and the other big wave surfers around the world are ready and it's amazing to all be together and face these giant swells. To surf massive waves with this brotherhood of big wave surfers is truly an amazing thing.”
Tour founder Gary Linden commented on the November 1st start date saying, "Two Oceans, three venues and 24 of the World's best big wave riders hungry for giant surf. The anticipation is high for a great big wave season in the Northern Hemisphere."
